Dukes Nose

A forest walk with some stream wading finished with a steep climb up to rock formation with stunning views over Whangaroa harbour.

At the bottom of the Dukes Nose peak is 16 bunks hut serviced by DOC 

This is quite versatille hike located just 20 minutes from the Doubtless bay. 

You can walk the Wairakau stream track which starts at Totara North, climb up to the peak and then get back the same way. Or you can get to  

To get to Duke's nose rock you have two options. You can take a water taxi from Whangaparoa harbour (or kayak!) and then climb up to top of this peak
